4. Once the pumpkins are complete, display them and play a guessing game. See if you can guess the owner of each pumpkin based on the clues. To play this game, have all the children stand up, then sit down as you narrow down your clues. For instance, you may say "We know this one belongs to a girl because it has a brown stem, so all the boys sit down and see if you can guess which girl it belongs to."

Pumpkin Glyph Code

Brown Stem: I am a girl.

Green Stem: I am a boy.

Red Leaf: I am 4 years old.

Orange Leaf: I am 5 years old.

Yellow Leaf: I like fall.

This code can be altered to meet the needs of your group. Add more details if needed, but keep it simple for younger kids. You may even want to incorporate halloween by adding eyes, noses and mouths to represent children's attributes!

2. Explain the code to the children and help them to understand that they must follow the code for this activity.

3. Show children how to use the construction paper peices to add stems and leaves to represent themselves. You may want to show them an example for this activity, but remind them that their leaves, etc., do not have to look like yours.
